Water Rocket Event 20th APRSAF
On Friday, November 29, 2013, five outstanding students from PSIS in water rocket building and launching with two accompanying instructors were invited to the occasion of the twentieth session of the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-20), a Water Rocket Event which was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from November 30 to December 1, 2013. The invited instructors were Mr. Seng Muny and Mr. Tek Sidaro while the students were Miss Vong Soukheng, Mr. Ea Chungleng, Miss Sreng Ponamey, Miss Phou Saumura, and Miss Chum Chanpanha. Water Rocket Event is an annual competition which aims to promote interests of youth to science. The event has been playing a very important role to providing such a great opportunity to educators and students to interact and share science education among one another, in particular, space science education. At the same time, the event is also a chance for culture sharing and more. This year on the first day, at VAST, students from 15 countries had a session to introduce themselves, learnt space activities, and were given briefing on the water rocket launch competition. After the students’ presentation session, the Cambodian students in colorful Khmer traditional clothes were invited by all country delegates for special group photos. On the second day, they made their water rockets at VAST and moved to the Hanoi University of Education for launch competition.
